Thaipusam
2005
 |
Thaipusam is a day of
consecration to the Hindu deity, Lord Murugan,
sometimes also called Lord Subramaniam. A
feature of the festival is the carrying of a
kavadi, a frame decorated with colored papers,
tinsels, fresh flowers, and fruits as a form
of penance. As such, in the spirit of the
festival, Silterra Malaysia has set up a
refreshment center or Thanner Panthal along
Jalan Utama, Penang. The Silterra Hindu staff
donated food and drinks to the congregation of
devotees and visitors alike. This marks
SilTerra’s 5th annual appearance in the
Penang Thaipusam Thanner Panthal. This event
has received great response from the public,
including a personal visit by the Chief
Minister of Penang, YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu
Koon. |
