Introduction

In line with the aspirations of our stakeholders, SilTerra is committed to be a catalyst to move Malaysia up the semiconductor value chain. In this regard, we believe that our organizational expertise can play a vital role in developing the high-tech industry and communities around us.


We are actively involved in supporting educational and academic efforts, especially in the field of science and technology. SilTerra collaborates closely with local universities and technical institutes in areas such as R&D, curriculum development and scholarship awards.


Additionally, SilTerra offers silicon shuttle services to selected local institutions of higher learning. Such services are vital as a platform for chip designers and researchers to validate their designs.


On the community front, SilTerra has consistently fostered good community relations through social and charitable activities. Over the years, these activities have strengthened ties between our employees and the local community.

2023

SilTerra Contributes Books to SK Sungai Karangan and SMK Sungai Karangan
14 August 2023

SilTerra Contributes Books to Schools in Kulim. The book contributions are part of SilTerra’s CSR initiatives, focusing on the Community aspect of ESG where it demonstrates our continuous commitment to enhance our relationship with various stakeholders and the local communities.


The books were the result of the overall collection of the internal IR2IS Book Donation Drive where SilTerra employees were encouraged to donate their used books which are still in good condition.


The first book handover was to the headmaster of SK Sungai Karangan, En. Zalizan Abdullah on Monday, 14th August 2023.


The second book handover was to the Principal of SMK Sungai Karangan, Pn. Rosliza Ghazali, on Tuesday, 15th August 2023.

The books given were a collection of numerous reading materials with topics ranging from academic-focused publications to story books that students can read during their free time to improve their language proficiency and comprehension.

SilTerra contributes to the National Robotics and Innovation Competition (INORO) 2023. The contribution further strengthens our collaboration with Kolej Vokasional Kulim to develop a skilled workforce and foster talent in Malaysia.


Kolej Vokasional Kulim held its maiden Robotics and Innovation Competition. The Competition was held to develop a platform for knowledge sharing and a healthy academic competition in an innovative and creative way. YB Fadhlina Sidek, the Minister of Education was the guest of honor for the event.


The competition was a collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the nearby E&E industries in Kulim-High Tech Park.

Donation to SBPI Kubang Pasu to Develop a Learning Access Centre

Innovate Malaysia Design Competition 2019 Finale

Innovate Malaysia Design Competition 2019 was held at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang. For Silterra/Intel/CEDEC track, the winner received Silterra MPW vouchers. The winner for this year was from UTEM.

USM GSB Summer Program Student Visit

SilTerra Contributed to Yong Ai Orphanage, Kulim for Chinese New Year
02 February 2024

SilTerra Malaysia, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) festivities, visited Yong Ai Orphanage, Kulim, in the spirit of unity and social harmony during the CNY celebrations.

 

 

The initiative, which took place 2 February 2024, was part of social responsibility, undertaken for the love of our community, in efforts to ensure those in need are not left behind in celebrating the CNY.

 

 

Present at the charity program was Mr. Tahiruddin Hamdan, Senior Director of Corporate Communications as the Management representative. SilTerra contributed ang pow to the children along with non-perishable food items and basic necessities.

 

 

 

SilTerra is committed and will endeavour to continue with the practice of visiting nursing homes, retirement homes, charity homes and orphanages during festive seasons in a bid to strengthen care and compassion among various communities.

 

 

This is a grassroots initiative that aims to help the surrounding community as well as strengthen SilTerra’s relationship with stakeholders from various walks of life such as the local community, resident associations, local authorities and NGOs.

Used Laptop Donation to SMK Sungai Karangan

Continuing our commitment to providing greater access to digital learning, SilTerra has contributed refurbished laptops to SMK Sungai Karangan, the laptops will be placed in the school’s library.

Iftar with Pertubuhan Pembangunan Anak-anak Yatim Bekas Perajurit Kulim (PPAYBPK)

SilTerra organized an iftar session with Pertubuhan Pembangunan Anak-anak Yatim Bekas Perajurit Kulim (PPAYBPK). RM100 duit raya was distributed to all the orphans at the orphanage centre. The iftar event and the contribution is part of SilTerra’s on-going Social Responsibility Community Programme.

Christmas Contribution to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Pelangi Emas Utara (PKPEU) Kulim
13 December 2022

SilTerra contributed a range of basic necessities items & cash to an old folks home, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Pelangi Emas Utara (PKPEU).

The aid, valued at RM 5,000, was distributed by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Albert Pang to the representative of PKPEU, Madam Chiang. 

We hope that this aid and personal care assistance can lift the spirits of Christmas to the residents as we are committed with our objective of leaving no one behind in all our efforts, especially during festive season. 

After the handover, Dr. Albert also took his moment to visit the residents.

Our Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin, represented SilTerra in handing the scrolls to the PTSB graduates. 230 graduates from the school of electrical engineering attended the convocation. Some of the scroll recipients are already working in SilTerra.

SilTerra is a sponsor of the 9th International Conference And Exhibition On Sustainable Energy And Advanced Material (ICE-SEAM 2023).

 

The conference is organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) in association with the Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, Indonesia (UNS). The event will be held in Putrajaya, Malaysia on 14 September 2023.

 

 

The conference serves as a platform for scientists, scholars, researchers, engineers, and students from Higher Educational Institutions, Research Institutions, and Industries to present their findings of ongoing/completed original research activities. Hence, fostering research collaborations between universities and industries. This conference also provides exposure to both industry and Institutions of Higher Learning on the opportunities for cooperation in research and consultancy activities at the universities and further strengthens the working network between academics, scientists, engineers, and technologists at the regional and international levels.
