SilTerra showed off its technology capabilities recently at an exclusive Optics and Photonics conference, Photonics@SG, held at NTU Singapore on 26 November 2018.
Visitors to the exhibition were given a glimpse of SilTerra's capabilities in silicon photonics and biophotonics, and how SilTerra technologies are enabling next-generation optical communication and life science applications. For SilTerra, this was a follow-on event from the recently organised Semiconductors in Life Science Symposium held in Penang in September, an initiative by SilTerra, supported by imec, aimed at accelerating collaboration between industry stakeholders within the med-tech ecosystem, of which LUX Consortium is a part of.
The one-day conference and exhibition in Singapore was organized by The Photonics Institute (TPI) and the LUX Photonics Consortium** with the theme 'Materials for New Photonics Technologies and Applications.'
This event featured plenary and keynote presentations from renowned academics and academia from A*STAR, SUTD and NUS as well as industry members such as DSO, Palomar Technologies and LightHaus Photonics. Subjects discussed and poster presentations included metamaterials, plasmonics, novel fiber structures, lasers, nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) and silicon photonics.
**Lux Photonics Consortium is an initiative by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS), supported by the National Research Foundation of the Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore, to propel Singapore’s photonics industry through innovation.
