On March 13th 2019 SilTerra hosted its second ever symposium – this one revolving around the theme Technologies in Mobility. The event held at the One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia featured industry experts from the Malaysian E&E sector and from around the world, coming together to share the latest industry and technology trends shaping the future of mobility.
This invitation-only event brought together over 120 delegates representing 20 government organizations and universities, and 40 corporations and SMEs into a single platform to experience first-hand information from industry experts regarding the advances taking place in the mobility space. The event combined:
- TED Talk-style sessions on technology and industry trends that were driving the developments in mobility;
- displays that showcased SilTerra’s and its partners’ involvement in next-generation mobility solutions;
- and provided significant opportunities for delegates to network
Some of the exciting topics covered in the symposium included the future of intelligent mobility, its impact on society and connected-living, storage and sensor technologies for vehicle navigation and safety, intelligent illumination for next-generation automobiles, efficient power management, communication infrastructure and simplified but highly important considerations in designing for automotive standards.
SilTerra, as the symposium host, also provided the delegates with a very important take-away message, highlighting its role in the semiconductor value chain and how its technologies enable next-generation mobility solutions. In the bigger picture, however, there is a great need for all, including SilTerra as a chipmaker, to work closely together as stakeholders within the mobility ecosystem to commercialize products and tap into the extensive opportunities present in the mobility segment.
The event received much positive feedback from the delegates and speakers. Attendees felt inspired by the knowledge they gathered from the event and the new connections that they established. It also provided increased awareness to the industry participants about the role of SilTerra as a local Malaysian chip maker and technology enabler in the mobility ecosystem.
