SILTERRA OPENS NEW OFFICE IN EUROPE
Germany Office to Provide Sales and Technical Support for Customers

Kulim, Malaysia (March 8, 2004) - Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a leading semiconductor wafer foundry, today announced that it has opened a sales and technical support office in Ismaning, Germany, to develop new business opportunities in Europe. 

Industry veteran Walter Prochaska heads the office as vice president of sales. He reports directly to Steve Della Rocchetta, executive vice president of sales and marketing. Prochaska brings to Silterra more than 30 years of semiconductor sales and marketing experience in Europe and in the United States.

His appointment underscores our intent to serve this region well. We anticipate significant growth in business in Europe in the years ahead.”

Prior to joining Silterra, Prochaska was vice president of sales at STATS where he was responsible for building the company’s European sales and support infrastructure. He has also held management positions with other industry-leading companies, including Chartered Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, Fairchild Semiconductor and IBM Microelectronics. He has a masters degree in electronics.
