SILTERRA AWARDED NATIONAL FIRE CERTIFICATE 
 

Kulim, Kedah (November 18, 2004) – Consistently implementing an excellent environment, health and safety (EHS) system has recently earned SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SilTerra) the acclaimed National Fire Certificate. The company is one of only 139 premises in the country to be awarded this highly sought-after certificate by the Fire and Rescue Department, Malaysia, in compliance with the Fire Service Act (1988).

Over the last two years, SilTerra has been diligently adopting the latest safety equipment and procedures in coordination with the Fire and Rescue Department to ensure that the facility is safe, not just for the production process, but also for its employees and the environment.

Over the years, vigorous EHS training and equipment upgrades have been systematically undertaken throughout SilTerra - in line with its position as an Environment Management System (EMS) ISO 140001 certified company. All employees are required to complete safety awareness programmes as part of their employment agreement. An EHS week is also observed annually in the company with activities designed to re-enforce the message.
