SILTERRA HIRES NEW SALES AND MARKETING EXECUTIVES

Kulim, Malaysia (June 7, 2005) – SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SilTerra), a leading semiconductor wafer foundry and strategic investment by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, has recently appointed Timothy Lee as the Senior Director (Sales, Asia-Pacific) and Koh Meng Kong as Director (Marketing, Asia).

The two new Directors, focused on growing SilTerra’s presence in the Asian region, will support SilTerra’s global sales and marketing function, headed by Steve Della Rocchetta, the company’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Announcing the appointment, Bruce Gray, President/COO and acting CEO of SilTerra said, “We have been targeting Asia, which accounted for roughly 42 percent of worldwide semiconductor sales in 2004, as a strategic region for business growth for several years. In fact, we generated 38 percent of our total sales revenue from the region last year. Our goal is to increase that share even further.”

“With Lee and Koh’s considerable experience in marketing semiconductor products, we have augmented our sales and marketing team to develop and support more customers in the region,” added Gray.

With an extensive 15 years of experience in the electronics industry, Lee will further develop and support key foundry customers in Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia (SilTerra’s Taiwan office will support Taiwan and China directly). He was previously based in Singapore and worked with leading companies including Unisys International, Rockwell Semiconductors and Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia. He graduated with a master degree in Telecommunications and Information Systems from the University of Essex, United Kingdom.

Koh, with over 14 years of semiconductor experience, will focus on strategic marketing and the development of key growth markets in Asia. He joined SilTerra from Chartered Semiconductor where he spent many years working in foundry product marketing and customer engineering group. Prior to that, he was involved in Mixed-Signal and RF product engineering at Agilent Technologies and Texas Instruments. He graduated in Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

“Our warm welcome to these two talented Malaysians. We are proud to have them join our team in Kulim as part of SilTerra’s commitment to increasing the local workforce in the high-tech industry,” concluded Gray.
