SILTERRA OFFERS MALAYSIANS HIGH-TECH CAREER OPPORTUNITIES


Kuala Lumpur, April 10, 2006 – Silterra Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Silterra), a leading semiconductor wafer foundry and strategic investment by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, participated in the 5th Career and Training Fair 2006 here at the Mid- Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from the 7th April to 8th April 2006, as part of the company’s strategy to attract young and experienced Malaysian talents to participate in the high-tech semiconductor wafer foundry industry.

A total of 170 exhibitors from a number of industries participated in the 2-day fair officiated by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport, YB Liow Tiong Lai.

Silterra’s Vice President of Human Resources, Kenneth Toh said, “We are pleased to have participated in this annual event and play a part in support of the initiatives to educate young talents as well as experienced professionals on the semiconductor wafer foundry industry.” 

With sales offices in Kuala Lumpur, San Jose (USA) and Hsinchu (Taiwan), Silterra currently has a worldwide customer base across Asia, Europe and North America. The company exports its products to many countries worldwide.

Our interns gain valuable working experience in Malaysia’s leading world-class wafer foundry,” added Toh.

Based at the Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Silterra currently provides 35 students annually with internship opportunities and a possibility of full-time employment. The company has more than 900 engineers and technicians hired locally as well as from countries like USA, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, India and the Philippines.
