EG KAH YEE JOINS SILTERRA AS NEW CEO AND MEMBER OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Kulim, January 5, 2007 – Silterra Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Silterra), a leading semiconductor wafer foundry and strategic
investment by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, has named Eg Kah Yee as its
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective January 3, 2007, replacing
the outgoing CEO, Bruce Gray. Kah Yee is also named as Executive
Director of the Board of Directors.
Bruce Gray, who joined Silterra in June 2003 as Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer, became CEO on July 1, 2005
and was instrumental in solidifying Silterra’s operational
excellence to compete with other global players in the semiconductor
wafer fabrication business.

Prior to joining Silterra, Kah Yee - a proud Malaysian - founded Key
ASIC, a leading ASIC/SoC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit /
System-on-a-chip) design company with special focus on consumer
electronics and communications applications. He started Synopsys
Asia Pacific where he was the General Manager of Asia Pacific
region. He began his career as a research and development (R&D)
Engineer in Silicon Valley and later moved to Asia. He has spent
more than 15 years in the EDA (Electronic Design Automation)/IC
Design/Semiconductor industry and has broad experience and
understanding in the consumer electronics and communication market
at the system level. In addition, Kah Yee has been active in the
investment community. He has been working with leading venture
capital companies investing in technology companies.
