FIRDAUS ABDULLAH JOINS SILTERRA AS VICE PRESIDENT OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT AND EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
Kulim, Malaysia, April 26, 2007 – Silterra Malaysia Sdn.
Bhd. today announced the appointment of Firdaus Abdullah as Vice President, Corporate Development and External Affairs. Firdaus will oversee all corporate development and external affairs in Silterra’s worldwide operations. He reports directly to Eg Kah Yee, Chief Executive Officer of
Silterra.

Firdaus’s achievements and experience in principal investments, mergers/acquisitions, and corporate development will help Silterra in realizing our new vision and deliver our business results.”
Firdaus was most recently a Partner at 1st Corporate Technologies, a London-based corporate finance house specializing in technology M&A and business development in Europe and the US. Previously, he was a venture capitalist with IDG Ventures Europe and MSC Venture. He has led and executed investment transactions in technology companies in North America, Europe, and Asia, and has played key roles at all stages of company growth from formation to exit. Prior to that, he was a Chevening Technology Enterprise Fellow at the University of Edinburgh where he co-founded an EDA startup and worked on commercializing academic research in microelectronics. Firdaus has also served at MDeC in Malaysia, where he was involved in implementing national-level strategic initiatives in the technology space.
Mr. Abdullah’s early career was as a design engineer at Intel Corporation in California. He has also worked at two communications device companies. His engineering experience covers the development of integrated graphics chipsets and broadband modems.

Firdaus earned his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California, and an MBA with Distinction from Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
