SILTERRA APPOINTS JALALUDDIN JARJIS AS CHAIRMAN
Appointment Strengthens Silterra's Board of Directors
Kulim, Malaysia (June 7, 2004) – Silterra Malaysia
Sdn. Bhd., a leading wafer foundry based in Kulim, Malaysia,
announced today the appointment of Mr. Jalaluddin Mohd. Jarjis
as a member of its Board of Directors effective today, and as
its new Chairman with effect from July 1, 2004.
Jalaluddin, 47, replaces Dato’ Anwar Aji who resigned from
the Board and as Chairman of the Company effective June 30,
2004.
He is the founder and principal of Artisan Encipta Ltd., a
venture capital management company incorporated in 2002
managing venture investments in technology companies.
Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the controlling shareholder of
Silterra has nominated Jalaluddin for his extensive experience
in technology and finance.
Jalaluddin’s earlier vocation was in physics and
mathematics. Between 1978 and 1995, he was involved in
research and teaching at various academic and industrial
institutions in US, Sweden, the United Kingdom, New Zealand
and Malaysia. From 1995 to 1998, he served as an investment
analyst with Pesaka Jardine Fleming Sdn.Bhd. He has since been
active in investment and technical advisory, fund management
and venture capital, principally in the area of technology
investment. Jalaluddin receives his education at Drew
University (US) and Lunds University (Sweden). He also holds
an MBA from Imperial College, London.
Ahmad Pardas, Silterra’s Executive Director & CEO,
welcomes the appointment. He believes that Jalaluddin will
strengthen the Board, on both the technology and business
areas given his extensive experience.
The Management and Board of Silterra wishes to record its

and stewardship during his tenor as Chairman of the Company.
