(What the analysts say)Current Investor Analyst Quotes Industry Analyst Jerry Karls, president and CEO Integrated Circuit Engineering Corporation (ICE) "When Silterra comes on-line they will be entering in the 'sweet spot' of the market. The process technology that Silterra has licensed from LSI Logic is highly suitable for use in the foundry environment and has distinct advantages. It allows more flexibility than what we've previously seen in the marketplace. The process technology itself is very competitive and extends to meet customer requirements providing a better migration path for next generation technology." Financial Analyst Mark Edelstone, Senior Semiconductor Analyst Morgan Stanley Dean Witter"With the recent growth in the semiconductor market, Silterra is entering the marketplace at the perfect time. As capacity begins to tighten with IDMs starting to outsource their wafer manufacturing, Silterra will be well positioned to gain market share in this area, as well as within the fabless community that requires leading-edge processes. The technology they have licensed from LSI Logic will give Silterra, and their customers, a distinct advantage for next generation technology." Industry Analyst JoAnne Itow, Senior Analyst Semico Research"Total foundry wafer demand will grow in excess of 40 percent over the next two years. By 2008, 30 percent of all semiconductors are expected to be produced by foundries for a compound annual growth rate of 20 percent. To meet the demand of 0.25 µm and below, 15 incremental factories with 30,000 wafer outs per month, have to be on line by 2002. Silterra couldn't have planned to enter the market at a better time, as their foundry services and technology capability will be in perfect sync with customer demand." Keywords:");
