The
principal investor of Silterra is Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the
investment holding arm of the Government of Malaysia entrusted to
manage Government-held assets. One of its key corporate missions is
to be a catalyst to develop strategic and high technology projects.
Bank Industri and Teknologi (Malaysia) Berhad, a development bank
owned by the Government of Malaysia, is the other major Malaysian
shareholder. Bank Industri was established to provide concessionary
loans to key strategic industries identified by the Government. The
bank focuses on high tech, export-oriented sectors and international
shipping.
