GEORGE TOWN, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed today between Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and SilTerra (M) Sdn Bhd to pave the way for greater co-operation and enhancement in joint research activities.
"Joint collaboration work between SilTerra and the Environment Technology Programme, School of Industrial Technology, USM began in 2008.
"The collaboration work initially started off with invited lectures by Facilities Manager of SilTerra on waste water management and treatment, and career talk to students," USM vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Omar Osman told reporters after the signing ceremony , here.
SilTerra was represented by its chief executive officer Dr Kamarulzaman Mohamed Zin.
Omar said the collaboration work between USM and SilTerra was followed by an internship programme and some research work performed by a final year student based on SilTerra's waste water, which was later extended to become and MSC research project.
