Throughout my 23 years of service, SilTerra has provided me with vast opportunity, career growth and a conducive working environment.
It’s a reliable Company. SilTerra placed the highest priority on achieving cost reduction through efficiency improvement rather than radically laying off employees. I would describe the people in SilTerra to be loyal and cooperative. There are subject matter experts from various departments who are equipped with knowledge or solutions that provide guidance and turn obstacles into opportunities from time to time.
I joined SilTerra in May 2000 as Senior Executive of Cost Management and in November 2021, I was appointed as Director/Head of Audit & Risk Management to establish an in-house Internal Audit function. Going down memory lane these twenty-three years of working journey with an unusual perspective and broad career advancement is really worthwhile.

Superb! In the 22 years I’ve worked at SilTerra, I find the people here to be friendly and cooperative. The Company has enabled me to boost my career as an engineer ever since I started my career in the year 2000. I have had many challenging projects and exposure to various disciplines within Facilities.
SilTerra’s strong collaboration with universities and its provision of financial support through the “Educational Assistance Program” has been a gateway for me to further my studies, develop new skills and improve my knowledge. It is a great place to work.

In one word how do you describe SilTerra and why?
Challenging. My course was in Chemical Engineering and interning in Technology Development means I had to get out of my comfort zone. SilTerra offers me hands-on experience where interns are trained as “mini-engineers” and I was able to gain valuable knowledge in the front-end semiconductor process.

In one word how do you describe SilTerra and why?
Can I sum it up in two words? Proactive and cooperative, because my colleagues at the Workshop Department are quick to respond to any issue and effectively complete the maintenance as well as repairs. When I’m not busy with maintenance or repairs, I work on my final year project with the guidance and strong support of my supervisor and teammates.

In one word how do you describe SilTerra and why?
Exciting! In Design Technology, I am able to work with engineers who are developing emerging technologies. This gives me the opportunity to be exposed to emerging core technologies such as Silicon Photonics and MEMS. If given the opportunity, I would love to join SilTerra.

In one word how do you describe SilTerra and why?
Supportive. I had a very good experience during my internship at SilTerra as I was exposed to real systems utilized by the company. There were many hands-on tasks that gave me the opportunity to learn as much as I could. I received very good support and close supervision from my supervisor and this enabled me to be on-track with my tasks.

In one word how do you describe SilTerra and why?
Fun! I am placed in IT-Helpdesk where my team members are fun to work with. I work in a centralized function to support and solve the IT needs/issues for all employees, hence, my team is always busy. However, my colleagues are always cheerful and they seem to really enjoy their work. As an intern, I’m constantly learning and asking questions. I am happy that they have made the learning process easy for me. It is a healthy environment to work in.

Welcoming. Despite the fact that I am new here, everyone smiles and greets me as if we have known each other for years. They are also very helpful and will do their best to assist you. My co-workers and supervisor also greeted me warmly on my first day, which made me feel very comfortable. Everyone I’ve met has been very generous with sharing their knowledge and willing to help without making any judgmental remarks, would definitely recommend SilTerra to my juniors.
